Connect a client
Add the ressource.social MCP server to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or any other remote MCP client.
Every client uses the same server URL:
https://www.ressource.social/api/v1/mcpYou can also find the URL in ressource.social under Settings → Integrations, with a copy button and the Claude Code command ready to paste.
This works the same in claude.ai, Claude Desktop and the mobile apps. You sign in with OAuth, so you have no client id, secret or token to fill in.
- Open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.

https://www.ressource.social/api/v1/mcpas the URL, then choose Connect. - Claude opens the ressource.social consent page. Sign in if you need to, check the account shown, and choose allow access.
The connector then appears in your conversations. You can disconnect it at any time from Settings → Integrations in ressource.social.
Keep tokens out of shared files
A personal access token works on the whole REST API. Keep any config file that holds one out of version control, and revoke the token in Settings → Integrations if it leaks.
Check the connection
Ask your assistant something only your Library can answer, such as "what did I save about typography?". It should call search_sources and cite links to your sources.
To check by hand, send a tools/list request with curl. The Accept header is required by Streamable HTTP:

-d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'A read token lists five tools and a write token lists twelve. With no token you get a 401 with a WWW-Authenticate header, which is what OAuth clients start from.
Troubleshooting
- "Protected resource … does not match expected …": the client was set up with
https://ressource.social/.... Remove it and add it again with thewwwURL. - 401 after it was working: the token was revoked, or the app was disconnected in Settings. Reconnect from the client, or create a new token.
- 429
rate_limited: wait for the number of seconds inRetry-After. See Rate limits. - The wrong account is connected: disconnect the app in Settings → Integrations, then connect again from the client. Choose use another account on the consent page.
